Thank you to Malia and Mylie for being my inspiration and my everything. I have learned more from you two girls than I can ever teach you. Trying to see the world from your perspective has opened my eyes to so much more than I could have ever imagined. Your passion, smiles, laughter, courage, inquisitiveness, and large hearts make the world a better place every day.

Jill Lynnette Piazza
Jill is a children’s book author of a wonderful story about anxiety.
Belly Rise aims to teach children that their thoughts and feelings are valid and that there is nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to anxiety.
Her book is a great complement to A Star Shining Bright: A Dance story, with similar themes and discussion topics.
Rooted in the practice of mindfulness, Jill’s book offers practical tips for coping with “belly rise” moments—giving children a voice in their struggle. Additionally, Belly Rise fosters guidance and discussion questions for adults on how they can support children in conversations about mental health.
Jill and I were friends in High School and even played on the same softball team. We reconnected over our love of children’s books, especially ones about social emotional learning. Check out here book!

Scuba Steve has written numerous children’s books about adventures in the water. They help teach kids about ocean conservation, and proceeds from each book will be donated to assist ocean conservation efforts and organizations. When not writing about underwater adventures he is teach swimming lessons at a local day camp. He has helped keep me motivated during this long author journey.
