About R.L. Elliott

R. L. Elliott writes heartfelt children's books that help young readers build confidence, resilience, and emotional awareness.

Inspired by raising two neurodivergent daughters, she believes every child deserves stories that remind them they are capable, valued, and stronger than they realize. Through her writing, she hopes to give children practical tools for navigating big feelings while encouraging meaningful conversations between children, parents, teachers, and caregivers.

Her debut picture book, A Star Shining Bright: A Dance Story, was inspired by years spent as a dance mom, watching children experience the excitement, nerves, self-doubt, and perseverance that come with learning something they love. At its heart is a simple but powerful message: everyone makes mistakes, but what matters most is having the courage to keep going.

When she's not writing, Rayna enjoys cheering on her daughters at dance competitions and sporting events, reading romance novels, spending time outdoors with her husband, and running her digital marketing agency on Long Island.

She is currently working on additional children's books that continue to explore resilience, inclusion, emotional growth, and the confidence to shine in your own unique way.
